Scientist I, DMPK

Cedilla Therapeutics is a close-knit, driven, and patient-focused team of drug discovery and oncology experts bringing a new dimension to precision oncology. We have discovered new ways to selectively inhibit oncogenic drivers with small molecules that conditionally modulate proteins in their functional state. Our conditional inhibitors are unlocking critical and elusive cancer targets including TEAD and CDK2.  This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced start-up environment, and candidates who are keen experimentalists, enthusiastic, creative, and have a passion for drug discovery should apply.

We are looking for a Scientist I that will collaborate, align, and influence teams to identify and mitigate key project questions related to ADME, PK and PK/PD, support of IND-enabling ADME and toxicology efforts and human dose projection predictions.

We view you as an important team member whose contributions will be critical to our success. Those contribution will include:

  • Serve as the DMPK representative on program teams and support technical and operational aspects of DMPK for drug discovery.
  • Review CRO study protocols and reports, interpret and communicate results internally.
  • Integrate in vitro and in vivo ADME results.
  • Help design and execute project-specific strategies to advance hit to lead and lead optimization programs through to development candidate selections.
  • Collaborate with medicinal chemistry to develop ADME SAR and help optimize compound properties in a hypothesis-driven manner.
  • Collaborate with pharmacology to understand and define PK/PD relationships.

Required Skills

  • Ph.D. in pharmacology with 1 year of post-doctoral or industrial experience.
  • Demonstrate strong interest and desire to learn about disease biology and mechanism of action of novel therapeutics to facilitate preclinical to clinical translation.
  • Critical thinking and strong analytical skills to evaluate complex information for the identification of key scientific findings related to projects.
  • Proficiency with pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism, pharmacodynamic and bioanalytical principles is required.
  • Experience in translational PK/PD modeling or PBPK modeling.
  • Experience with complicated data types and a diversity of modeling and simulation approaches (e.g., Systems Pharmacology) and M&S platforms (e.g., Phoenix, GastroPlus, SimCYP).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate complex research findings and recommendations.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues and collaborators, seeking to excel in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
